Aircraft Seals

Aircraft Door & Hatch Seals

Aircraft door and hatch seals are typically fabric reinforced silicone bulb or lip seals, similar in construction to aerodynamic seals, but usually have a lower operating temperature requirement and seal a pressure differential.

Recommended reinforcement fabrics include polyester and nylon. Fabrics can be molded as a cover or embedded in the surface of the seal.

Strips can be spliced into various assemblies to conform to any door or hatch shape.

Jet Engine Seals

Seals for jet engine applications can be molded into a wide variety of shapes and sizes, materials and configurations, to perform many different functions.

The types of seals made at Jonal commonly use silicone or fluorosilicone rubber reinforced with fabrics, such as polyester, nylon, fiberglass, and aramids (NOMEX or KEVLAR). Seals are used in the engine compressor stages to fill gaps around blades and vanes, and control or limit air flow. Seals are also used around the engine nacelle.
